Can You Handle the Pressure? challenge has a perfect twist to lend itself to a Christmas card - "a twist of greenery".
I used a snowflake embossing folder on the card base and then chose the beautiful cardinals sitting on snowy greenery to tie it all together. The image is coloured with coloured pencils, then trimmed with a circle die, and mounted on green glitter cs cut with an inverted scallop circle die. I went over the snow on the branches with a quickie glue pen and added glitter, and used a small die to cut "merry" out of red cs.
And for Christmas Card Creations "Monochromatic", Tic Tac Toe Challenge (I chose the right vertical line "ribbon, free, blue"), and Snippets (I used a snippet of leftover alcohol ink background, some snippets of white cs for the tree die and the sentiment tag, and a snippet of blue ribbon to attach the sentiment tag):
The focal image is die cut trees layered over alcohol inks on glossy cs. The background is embossed with a simple texture embossing folder.

ReplyDeleteSusan... love the alcohol ink background and the tree die cut... great combination. Thanks so much for joining and sharing at Tic Tac Toe this week!
ReplyDeleteI love those beautifully coloured cardinals Susan, and the inverted scalloped edge in that pretty glitter green card gives it an interesting edge, and the embossed snowflake background is just perfect. The second with the white trees in the frame looks great with the blue alcohol ink background, and the blue ribbon holding the sentiment tag in place finishes it brilliantly, also the subtle texture embossing looks so pretty in the background. x
ReplyDeleteThese cardinals are so pretty on the icy branches, Susan! And the trees are one of my favorite dies and look so pretty with this alcohol ink background.
ReplyDeleteThe cardinal card is just beautiful and I love the snow on the greenery. A pretty sky for the trees and a lovely blue ribbon.

Two pretty Christmas cards Susan, the little cardinals are so sweet and your snippet of AI background is perfect for the snowy tree scene ♥
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful Christmas cards. Love the backgrounds and die cuts on each. The stamped and coloured cardinals on the first card are lovely. We don't have cardinals in the UK.
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering your second card as homework for the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse for a warming cup of hot chocolate later xxx
So lovely to see you in the Playground Susan, it seems to have been a while, I love both your cards - as Sarn says, we don't have red cardinals in the UK, more's the pity as they are so beautiful. Love your snippets card - wonderful background save! And it's lovely to see ribbon being used on a card as well!

Two lovely designs Susan - the red cardinals are so pretty sitting on their snowy branch - and the ribboned sentiment is lovely beneath your die cut pines over that beautiful blue background! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so pretty! Thanks for playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful Christmas cards. Normally blue and non-traditional colour cards jump out at me, but for some reason your first card in traditional red and green caught my attention more! 🤷🏻♀️ Go figure.
