Sneaking in under the wire for the Penny Black and More Challenge "Favourite Stamps" and for the June Rudolph Days challenge.
My favourite Penny Black stamps are the adorable dogs that very much look like spaniels (and most of you know I have an English Cocker Spaniel - my third of that wonderful breed).
Easy CAS card - stamped, watercoloured, trimmed with a circle die,
bordered in green shimmer cs, and placed on a white shimmer card base.
I coloured the dog in the colouring of Will, my previous spaniel as the dog's pose and activity made me think more of him, than of my current spaniel.
Will died almost two years ago but I still miss that dear quirky fellow. Here he is doing what he loved best, fetching balls at the beach in his young active days:
And an older, more serious pose:
Thanks for looking at my card and photos and sharing my memories!
Supplies:
Stamps - Penny Black
Ink - Archival Jet Black
Paper - watercolour paper, green and white shimmer cs
Size - 4.75" square
Accessories - watercolour paints, Lil Inker stitched circle die, MFT wonky stitched circle die
A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".

Repeat Day
The Day of the Month Club has a fun challenge "Repeat Day". You have to use a stamp repeatedly.
I put the wildflower stamp in my MISTI and inked up with Distress Weathered Wood, then spritzed with water and stamped onto watercolour paper. I moved the stamp over and repeated twice more.
Then I used black pigment ink and embossing powder for the clear sharp black image of the flower and for the sentiment.
Thanks for coming by. I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Supplies:
Stamps - TH wildflower, PTI sentiment
Ink - Distress Weathered Wood, Versafine Onyx Black
Paper - watercolour paper, ivory cs
Size - A2
Accessories - clear embossing powder, fun foam, Spellbinders layering rectangle die

Snowflakes, Embossed and Die Cut
I'm playing with snowflakes today.
I dry embossed a piece of vellum with a snowflakes embossing folder. The embossing seemed to stand out more with a darker background so I put a piece of silver cs behind it. Then added a silver heat embossed sentiment to a strip of vellum and layered that over it. I die cut a silver cs frame using two rectangle dies and used it to hide the tape that shows through vellum. I die cut a large snowflake out of glitter cs and a small one out of the silver cs and layered them on top to finish it off.
It's going in last minute card for CAS Mix Up "Embossed Vellum".
Supplies:
Stamps - Old Island Stamp Co. sentiment
Ink - ColorBox silver
Paper - white and silver cs, vellum, glitter cs
Size - A2
Accessories - Embossalicious snowflake embossing folder, Spellbinders snowflake dies and rectangle dies, silver embossing powder, fun foam

The Paper Players are asking for a Clean and Simple Thank You card.
Here's my card:
I stamped and heat embossed the iris in white, then watercoloured both iris and background, and then splattered some blue in ink. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cs and die cut a window in it. I popped the window up over the iris image and added it all to a white card base.

Framed Spaniels
Just Us Girls is asking us to add a frame to our cards.
I stamped and fussy cut the two spaniels - one looks like Tessa and is in her colouring, and the other looks like dear old Will who passed away two years ago.
I die cut the pierced frame die three times and glued them together to
give substance to the frame.
Here's a photo of the two of them together - Tessa still a puppy, Will a tired old fellow - but they loved to snuggle together.
I sure do miss sweet Will.
Supplies:
Stamps - Grey Wolf Graphics dog stamp, Raintree dog stamp, Memory Box sentiment
Ink - Archival Jet Black, Distress Vintage Photo
Paper - white cs
Size - 5.25" square
Accessories - MFT pierced square frame die

Jingle Bells
A quick reminder about the CAS Christmas challenge that is running until June 24th. This month the theme is Bells.
I stamped the bells on watercolour paper and painted with my Gansai Tambi paints that include metallic gold and copper paints. I used them on the bells - in real life, there is more shimmer than in the photo. I fussy cut the bells, popped them up on a cs square with "Jingle" stamped on it, and bordered with gold shimmer cs.
You have until June 24th to enter our "Bells" CAS challenge. Please check out the other samples from the Design Team if you want more inspiration.

Nice Colours
Sneaking in at the last minute to enter the Color Throwdown challenge.
Supplies:
Stamps - various small wildflower and grass stamps, TH thank you
Ink - Archival Jet Black, various Distress Oxide inks
Paper - white and black cs, watercolour paper
Size - A2
Accessories - clear embossing paste, cone flower stencil, TH clipping sticker
I really like the blues and purple together, and came up with this card:
First I made a smooshed background on watercolour paper with various
Distress Oxide inks to get the shades of blue. Then stamped the grass, smaller flowers, and
butterfly. I then sponged the purple and green (and brown for the flower centre) through
a cone flower stencil, cleaned the stencil, and went over it again with
clear embossing paste.
I added a narrow black border, a sentiment, and a TH clipping sticker.

Christmas Bells
The new CAS Christmas challenge is "Bells".
It was the perfect opportunity to pull out my bell dies and a scrap of gold glitter cs.
I die cut the bells, carefully saving the little stars that fell out of them. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on white cs and then trimmed it with a wonky stitched rectangle.
I threaded ribbon through the bells and taped it to the back of my sentiment panel, and then popped the bells up in place with pop dots. I glued on the little stars that fell out of the dies. I added the panel to the card base with fun foam.
We'd love to have you join us at CAS Christmas. There is lots of inspiration from our Design Team and this month's Guest Designer, LeAnne (Wee Inklings). You have until June 24th to enter.
Supplies:
Stamps - Impression Obsession sentiment
Ink - Distress Oxide Candied Apple
Paper - gold glitter and white cs
Size - A2
Accessories - Lil Inker bell dies, MFT Wonky Stitched rectangle die, sparkly embossing powder, pop dots, fun foam
