A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".

A Masculine Birthday

I made this as a birthday card for a male friend who is an avid reader and who loves coffee.

The image is coloured with coloured pencils and blended with Gamsol.

When finished, I had a smudge of oily Gamsol on the lower right edge so stamped and die cut "happy birthday" to cover it up!

It's going over to two challenges:

Supplies:
Stamps - Stamplorations
Ink - Archival Jet Black
Paper - white and red cs
Size - A2
Accessories - coloured pencils, Gamsol, Nesties circle dies, Lil Inker stitched rectangle die, fun foam

  1. Now that's a great image for a male friend who loves books and coffee. Loving the die cut round sentiment!! x

  2. What a colorful stack of books, Susan, and they look well read with the shading on the spines! The happy birthday is perfect and doesn't look a bit like it's covering a smudge.

  3. Don't you just hate it when that happens, great save. Great masculine card, I know your friend will love it :)

  4. Fantastic card for your friend, Susan. Great colouring with your pencils. Smudges are annoying, but your design looks awesome with your die-cut sentiment circle. xx

  6. Perfect card for someone who reads a lot and a coffee drinker. That is a great way to rescue a card that has a boo boo and it looks like it is meant to be there.
