But got inspired by a couple of challenges to get a post done.
First up, the Double D "Run Rudolph Run" Challenge wants to see a deer on our projects:
I took a piece of mixed media cs and spritzed it with water and then rubbed three different Distress stains over it, and spritzed a bit more to get the colours to blend.
I trimmed it with a deckle edge die and added a gold embossed sentiment. I die cut the reindeer out of a gold moire textured cs and again out of white cs - glued them together for more substance. Also die cut a few little gold stars. Glued the pieces on the background and popped up on fun foam.
And for the 4 Craft Chicks "Ribbon and Bows" challenge:
I stamped and heat embossed the image and sentiment in green on a cream cs, trimmed it and cut a slightly longer panel of green cs, mounted the image, and then wrapped the bottom of the green cs with a gingham ribbon and added a bow.
Since the image is from a song, I mounted it on a music-embossed background and used fun foam to popped it up on the card base.
More Christmas cards to come in the next few days!
These are both magnificent, Susan! Your golden reindeer looks sensational against that beautifully colored sky! And your beribboned partridge is so rich and elegant! I love that you added a music-embossed layer!! 🎄Happy Holiday Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are just beautiful, Susan. Love that deer cut from that unusual gold. The texture in that is fantastic. Love the embossed partridge too. I could almost use some colored powders to achieve these wonderful effects.
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful cards. That deer is majestic and full of texture / dimensions. And I thought I recognized the second one... it looked amazing in copper and now in gorgeous in green too! Fabulous image. Love the embossed music background. xx
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern the moire gold gives the deer and the depth of color on the background in the first card! The dark green with the gingham ribbon is so classy and I love the embossed background!
ReplyDeleteI never tire of your beautiful Christmas Cards, Susan. You sound very, very busy. It is always a joy when all our Chrismas projects are done and we can sit back and enjoy as the beautiful cards fill our mailboxes filled with loving messages from new and old friends and family. Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeletetwo gorgeous cards Susan, that deer looks amazing with all the shimmer and love your traditional partridge in a pear tree. It seems as though you are motoring through all your Christmas activities :)
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderful cards Susan. LOVE the beautiful background made with your distress stains. The gold reindeer is so elegant ... love this die! And your partridge in a pear tree is so pretty done in dark green on cream card stock. Perfect with the dry embossed musical background. You are normally very busy, so I can't imagine how busy you are now with all the extra shifts at the riding society and making more Christmas cards since you donated all you had at the end of Nov. for the sale. xx
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are fabulous, Susan! The soft and dreamy background and the textured gold gold deer and stars are so beautiful and interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love the classic look and the color combo of the second card. The little gingham ribbon is such a cute accent!
