We're rolling along incredibly quickly towards Christmas so here's another chance to get some cards made - the CAS Christmas Card Challenge wants to see wreath cards this month.
I chose dies to make my wreath:
I didn't want to just use coloured cs for my pieces as it looks so flat. Instead, I wanted the dimension and variation in colour that smooshing would give me. Using scraps of watercolour paper and various Distress inks, I smooshed browns for the wreath, greens for the greenery, and red for the birds and bow.
I stamped my sentiment in brown on a stitched circle die cut, and assembled the wreath, etc. I used fun foam under the circle to add more dimension on a red card base.
Head on over to CAS Christmas to see what the rest of the Design Team and our September Guest Designer, the incredible Birgit (Rapport fran ett skrivbord) has done to inspire you. You have until September 24th to link up your card - please be sure it is clean and simple, and includes a wreath as its major element.
A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".
