Time for December's CAS Watercolour challenge!
Less than a month until Christmas and I need more Christmas cards so have gone with a Christmas card.
My birds are stamped and watercoloured with my Gansai Tambi paints. I used the tip of a fine pointed paintbrush to add the dots to represent snowflakes.
For the frame, I took a piece of watercolour paper and used the splash technique with Distress inks to add colour to it, and then used two sizes of rectangle dies to cut it into a frame. I trimmed the panel with the birds to fit behind it, stuck the frame onto it, and popped it up with fun foam.
For a final touch, I added glue and fun flock to the hats' brims and pom poms.
Head over to CAS Watercolour to see the cards from the rest of the Design Team and our great Guest Designer, Hideko, of Papercraft Boutique. You have until December 24th to enter any kind of watercolour card as long as it's clean and simple, including open space. We'd love to have you join us!
A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".

ReplyDeleteThese PB birds are so cute and such fun and beautifully coloured. What a great idea to use a splash watercolour frame in those pretty shades of blue which is echoed in the shadow beneath the birds and for the little bits of falling snow. Perfect! x
