A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".

Holly for 52CCT

This week's 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge is to pick a previous theme challenge.

I picked theme #20 "Holly" and created this card:

And also made a colour variation on it:

I stamped and watercoloured my image, flicked some colour splatters on it, die cut with a square, and bordered with burlap.

It's a nice flat card for mailing and would also be easy to mass produce.

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies:
Stamps - Rubber Stampede holly, Wordsworth noel
Ink - Archival Jet Black
Paper - cream cs, watercolour paper
Accessories - watercolour paints, red and natural burlap

  1. Pretty holly, Susan! And I love the burlap and how different the red burlap makes the whole card!

  3. Love both these vibrant holly themed cards. Lovely watercoloring, and I liked the texture of the burlap frame behind the image. Especially loving the wonderful color on the red...Very rich depth indeed. TFS
