A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".

A Winter Birthday
I made this card for my niece who lives in Ontario where they have snowier winters than we have here in Vancouver (and in fact, they have been having snowstorms the last few days).
A simple heat embossing resist, done in white on watercolour paper, then
a blue watercolour wash around the trees, a heat embossed sentiment,
and some splatters of white acrylic paint. The watercolour paper warped
badly from the wash, so I stuck it down on fun foam to help straighten
it out.

The fun foam certainly worked and a good idea. Love the colour of the blue against the white. Such a pretty card x
ReplyDeleteLove the bright blue of your sky, Susan. And the splatters add so much to the snowy scene. :) Your niece is going to love this. xx
ReplyDeleteI so like the blue wash with the eb trees...looks frosty and wintery.
