I decided to make a reindeer using gilding flakes.
I covered some cs with double sided tape, removed the tape protector, and covered it with gilding flakes in a gorgeous range of colours. I then die cut both the reindeer and the sentiment.
I wish I could get inspired to use up my stash of dp but mostly it doesn't work for the cards I make these days. But in this case, a piece of snowflake covered dp blended with the gilding flakes really well so I went with it.
Here's a close-up of the gorgeous colours in the gilding flakes:
Thanks for dropping by today!
Love your gilded Reindeer Susan, gorgeous Christmas card. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteYour reindeer is gorgeous Susan. Love it done in the deep colours of gilding flakes that you used. And it looks amazing jumping through the snowflakes. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, my, but this reindeer is gorgeous, Susan! The gilding flakes are the perfect colors to make this reindeer look like the stars are shining off his coat! The white snowflakes on the Kraft card are a perfect background for him!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! I love the reindeer and the picture you have created.
ReplyDeleteWow - just love the gilded reindeer and sentiment, Susan - card looks amazing!!
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing mix of colours from the gilding flakes, love the card
ReplyDeleteOMG>>>WOW....really Stunning reindeer, Susan! I can just imagine IRL how gorgeous the gilded flakes make your reindeer. What a great way to use your flakes with double sided tape. Your DSP worked beautifully with the reindeer. TFS your beauty. Hugs....
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful! ...Definitely dashing through the snow, I hear your card singing :D
ReplyDeleteLove it!
Jaw dropping Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your card!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, I love your reindeer. Thank you for playing along with Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool with the guilding flakes! Such a pretty card. Do you just rub the flakes kind of firmly on the double sticky?
ReplyDeleteYes, you rub them quite firmly on the double sticky. I drop on quite a lot of flakes so that all of the sticky is covered and then rub. There will be quite a bit of excess flakes that rub off but I just put those back in the pot to use next time.
DeleteThanks!
DeleteI love how you used the gilding flakes on your reindeer, what a beautiful effect and looks great on the kraft background.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to use my gilding flakes, but still didn't do it. You've inspired me as this is stunning!
