A blog devoted to the cards I make in my tiny upstairs space. When my sister stays there, she calls it an "artist's garret". I'm not an artist, but am an enthusiastic cardmaker - hence the title "Cardmaker's Garret".

Star with Greenery / Spring Blossoms with Hummingbird

Color Hues wants to see green and gold, and Shopping our Stash wants us to feature gold.

I die cut a star and sentiment out of gold mirror cs, and some greenery out of white shimmer and green shimmer cs. Assembled the card and finished with a gold cord bow.

Seize the Birthday wants Anything with Wings, Four Seasons has a Spring challenge, and I've got birds and blooms for the Triple B challenge (any of birds, blooms, and / or butterflies).
I inked up the blossoms stamp in my MISTI with markers, then spritzed lightly with water I die cut the hummingbird out of watercolour paper and coloured him with watercolour paints. His beak is glued down to the centre of one blossom and the rest of him is popped up with foam tape to give the sense of him hovering over the blossom.
